Little Doll Corner

My latest experiments

If you are interested to exchange dollmaking experiences, then this tiny blog might be for you. I like to share my sewing experiments, where my inspiration comes from, and how I find new fabrics! And if you really like this sort of stuff, don't forget to subscribe to my monthly e-mail newsletter.

Trying a new aesthetic

Once upon a time, I figured it would be a nice idea to start a line of gothic dolls. I purchased organic cotton in moody, dark botanical prints, black lace, and got to work. The dark fabrics went very well with the light yarn hair colors I had in my stash, some blue and some purple.

In the picture above you can see a doll without arms undergoing the building process. I loved the way the hair contrasted with the black fabrics and the little color accents from the prints.

You can see the final result down below. They are quite different from my usual aesthetic, colorful and a bit on the vintage side. But I welcome the change!
